Two adults were treated for smoke inhalation after a fire destroyed a two-story home in Centralia early Saturday morning, according to a news release from the Riverside Fire Authority (RFA).

Three adults and six children were present when firefighters responded to the blaze at 119 Davis View Drive at 2:42 a.m., according to the fire authority. Two of the adults were transported to Providence Centralia Hospital for treatment.

RFA personnel and apparatus stayed on scene for multiple hours placing on hot spots,” the authority stated in the release. “The structure itself is a total loss and the displaced occupants were provided Red Cross assistance. One spot fire from flying embers was discovered and extinguished by responders.”

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Chehalis Fire Department, Lewis County Fire District 6, the West Thurston Fire Authority and American Medical Response responded along with the Riverside Fire Authority.
