Organized by the Centralia Downtown Festivals Association (CDFA) and the Lewis County Quarter Milers, the Hub City Car Show is set for this Saturday, Aug. 26, according to CDFA President and owner of The Shady Lady Holly Ryan.
Free to attend, the show will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. along Tower Avenue in downtown Centralia. It will feature at least 300 entrants with a variety of vehicles.
“Typically we have between 300 and 325 cars on Tower every year,” Ryan said.
Music will fill the streets both from a DJ and a band on different blocks, along with several vendors, but Ryan said the main focus will be the cars and downtown Centralia businesses.
“It benefits the businesses up and down Tower. It showcases and promotes them, along with all of the beautiful cars,” Ryan said.
One of those businesses, Powersports Northwest, has donated a 2018 Yamaha YXZ 1000 side-by-side off-road utility vehicle for the raffle this year, Ryan said.
Along with the car show registration fees, proceeds from the Hub City Car Show fund CDFA scholarships at Centralia College and maintenance of Central Park in downtown Centralia.
“All the money earned at the car show goes back into our community,” Ryan said.

Those interested in participating can register the day of the show, but Ryan recommended those who plan on doing so arrive early.
“You want to get here early in the morning. People are lined up at 6 o’clock in the morning to start lining the streets, so get here early to register,” Ryan said.
