Hundreds attend Midsummer Fae Carnival for family fun in Centralia

While temperatures approached 90 on Saturday, Aug. 26, the heat didn’t stop hundreds of people from going to Schaefer County Park in Centralia for the Midsummer Fae Carnival.

The family-friendly event was free to attend and organized by Stars Aligned, a local charity focused on supporting children transitioning into and out of the foster care system and those in recovery.

Many came dressed in costumes regardless of the heat. The carnival ran from noon to 7 p.m., with a variety of games and prizes available along with hair decorating and face painting.

Additionally, some chose to cool off by taking a dip in the Skookumchuck River at the park.

Sponsors of the event included the Victorian Showcase and Steampunk Emporium, the Skook River Farm, the Olde Archer Farm, Aromamancy, Muse Designs, Blue Ink, Green Garden and Consultation, Southwest Washington Fantasy Events along with individual sponsors Sherwin Luque and Charlie and Andrea Gartland.
