"Today was an unforgettable day for my 10-year-old boy, Nash! He was out hunting with his dad, Justin, for elk when something unexpected happened. As they hiked through some brushy grasses, they heard a loud crash from behind them. Little did they know, a cougar had jumped down from a tree nearby! With no firearms for Justin (because it's Nash's elk hunting season), he told Nash to be ready with his rifle. In an incredible moment of bravery and skill, Nash aimed his 300 and spotted the cougar just 25 feet away, clear as day through his scope. Nash's quick thinking and sharp aim truly may have saved both his and his dad's lives, as the cougar was ready to pounce. What a remarkable experience for our young hunter! Proud of you, Nash!" — submitted by Adrienne Jones, Bay City, Washington
"Trevon Sater and his sister, Kristina McNair, doubled up on the last day of early season deer hunting. Such an awesome moment and memory of a lifetime." — submitted by Hannah Gillaspie.
“This is my wife, Cassie Ward, from Onalaska, Washington. She had a successful hunt, getting this bull elk at 160 yards with a 45-70 out of Randle, Washington. We are truly blessed to have meat in our freezer and a nice trophy to hang on our wall." — submitted by Alton Ward
"Wrenly's debut hunting season was a captivating experience, with her observing the full spectrum of the process. We are enthusiastic about the prospect of her harvesting her own in a few years!" — submitted by Melissa Petrino
"After five years of hunting, Paul finally got his first deer on Tuesday morning! He didn’t grow up hunting, but he loves the outdoors. A friend and I used to tease him that he was more of a 'gatherer.' Well, when he called to say he tagged one, he sent the photo and followed it with, 'Gather this, ladies!' I was about to take the kids to school, but we kept them home so they could be part of the moment. They went a few times this year and wanted to see. I grew up hunting with my dad, and I think it’s a great way to teach kids about the cycle of life and where our food comes from. Their dad provided meals for them for many days to come — just like mine did when I was little. What a fantastic first buck!" — submitted by Heather Estep
"Hello this is my husband, Alex Weissenfluh, from Chehalis, Washington. Finally, after four years of hunting and never giving up, he finally got himself this guy this morning rutting up against a fir tree about 60 yards off the logging roads. Had to track him his blood trail around 60 yards in to finally get him." — submitted by Amberlynn Weissenfluh
"Our 10-year-old son Landon Coolidge with his first buck. Awesome experience! His dad and I could not be more proud. His buck is unique as he only has the horn on the one side. He has put in a lot of time and effort in the woods. So happy to see it paid off for him."
