Travelers who use Interstate 5 in Lewis County should plan for lane closures and delays, according to a news release from the Washington state Department of Transportation (WSDOT).
The right lane of southbound I-5 at the Cowlitz River Bridge and the on-ramp from Exit 59 to southbound I-5 will close between mileposts 59.5 and 58.5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20.
The right lane of northbound I-5 at the Cowlitz River Bridge will close between mileposts 58.5 and 59.5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21.
The WSDOT bridge maintenance crews will inspect the Cowlitz River bridges starting Saturday, Sept. 20. These annual inspections help keep the bridges safe and in good condition for all travelers, as well as extend the structure’s lifespan, the news release stated.
