I-5 Toyota hosts annual Back to School Dash to raise money for scholarships

Runners and walkers from across the Pacific Northwest gathered at I-5 Toyota in Chehalis on Saturday, Aug. 26, for the Back to School Dash, an annual 5K that raises money for local scholarships.

The 5K stretches from I-5 Toyota to the Riverside Golf Club and back, with some participants racing competitively for the chance to win a medal and others taking a leisurely pace. Many dashers brought their children or walked their dogs, and others just came to the event to watch or help out.

“The I-5 Dash is ultimately about encouraging a healthy lifestyle and coming together in support of our local youth and their education,” organizers stated on the event’s website.

All proceeds from the event go toward the I-5 Toyota Senior Scholarship, which is available to graduating seniors who have made a significant contribution to their high school and community and have a desire to pursue post-secondary education or training.
