In focus: Chehalis Farmers Market opens for the season; first Saturday market set for this weekend

Posted

The Community Farmers Market of Chehalis officially kicked off its season as it opened on Tuesday, June 4, on Northeast Boistfort Street in downtown Chehalis.

Attendees bought fruit, vegetables, eggs, meat and dairy products straight from area farmers and ranchers while shopping and supporting other local vendors.

Those who missed the Tuesday opening are in luck.

This Saturday, June 8, the Community Farmers Market of Chehalis will be in downtown Chehalis for the first Saturday market, a pilot program market organizers are experimenting with this year.

The idea came after customers kept asking for a farmers market on Saturday.

While the Tuesday farmers markets in Chehalis are weekly and will be ongoing every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. until the end of October, the Saturday farmers markets will only be held on specific Saturdays.

Those dates include June 8, July 13, Aug. 10, Sept. 14 and Oct. 12.
