Students in the Chehalis School District dressed up in orange Friday in recognition of Hunter Wilson Day.
Wilson, a high school sophomore, was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) this summer.
Last week, the Chehalis School Board declared Friday as "Hunter Wilson Day" through a proclamation.
In an interview with The Chronicle, her mom, Alyssa, described the teen as “vivacious” and a “spitfire.”
“Everything she does is with pure intentions,” Alyssa said.
On Saturday, Wilson’s family hosted a “Hope for Hunter” breakfast fundraiser at McFiler’s Restaurant and Bar in Chehalis.
