The Chehalis School District broke ground on the project during a ceremony on Aug. 28, 2023.

The upgraded baseball field will feature advanced drainage systems, professional-grade turf and optimal conditions for players and spectators, according to the Chehalis Foundation.

Phase two of the project could include the installation of energy-efficient lighting, allowing for extended playing hours. The Chehalis Foundation and the Chehalis School District first announced their partnership for the baseball stadium project in April 2022.
