Mac Daddy J, a rescue horse that has won medals for his performance in equestrian meets, is dressed as a Flamenco dancer in a barn on Saturday in Spanaway for a W.F. West Equestrian Team meet. He's a gold medal winner in jumping for the district and took third place in regionals last year. His owners struggle to keep weight on him, but besides that, he lives a happy, healthy life. Mac was one of 13 horses seized from a Winlock property in 2020. When officials finally obtained a warrant and gained access to the parcel, they found the remains of two dead horses, one skull still decomposing under an overturned garbage can.
