Volunteers Patty Smith and Mary Beth smile alongside Zoey, a pointer-mix, next to a display of bicycles from the Hub City Bike Shop during a “Repair and Sustainability Fair” at Centralia College on Saturday, Sept. 23. The event — brought by a partnership between the WSU Lewis County Extension, Lewis County Public Works and other organizations — returned Saturday to Centralia College from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event included classes on maintenance and volunteers who helped fix household items, such as a ripped pair of jeans or a broken vacuum. Organizers are hoping to make the Repair and Sustainability Fair a quartlery event in the future.
