In Loving Memory of  Aileen Carlson: 1932-2021

 Aileen Louise Deggeller Angel Carlson, of Tumwater, Wash., passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021, in Olympia, 
Wash. She was born in Chehalis, Wash., January 4, 1932, to John and Priscilla Deggeller. 
Aileen grew up on a chicken farm south of Chehalis. She attended school at Forest School 1st through 6th grade and then went to Chehalis 7th through 12th grade. She graduated from Chehalis High School in 1950. 
She married Bob Angel in the spring of 1951 and they had 3 children, Timothy, Jonathan, and Joan(Joni). They later divorced. In 1972, she married Ellis (Slim) Carlson and they had 33 years together until Slim’s death in 2005. Aileen was then reacquainted with a friend from High School, Les Spickler. They spent many good times together until her death. 
Aileen spent nearly 3 decades working for Rogers Machinery Co. Inc. in Centralia. She loved to watch sports, tennis, football, baseball, and the Olympics. She was also an avid knitter. She could knit with her eyes closed. If you ever see a knit cap with the name ‘Fruity Fedora’ on it, it was knit by Aileen. 
Survivors include partner Les Spickler; son Tim (Helen) Angel; daughter Joni Angel; granddaughter Audrey Angel; grandson Aaron (Corie) Angel; grandson Jonah Angel; and great-grandchildren Madeline, Annabelle, and Archer. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Priscilla Deggeller; sister Delores Tripp; Husband Ellis (Slim) Carlson; and son Jon Angel
