In loving memory of Alene Palmer: 1938-2024

Charlotte “Alene” Palmer, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2024, in Seattle at the age of 86. Born on Feb. 13, 1938, in Mossyrock, Washington, Alene lived a life full of love, faith and dedication to her family and community. 

Alene married the love of her life, Kenneth L. Palmer, on May 4, 1956. Together, they built a wonderful life, blessed with four children: Michael L. Palmer, Thomas L. Palmer, Charlotte E. Reas and Jill M. Johnson. The family resided in Centralia and Federal Way, Washington, before relocating to Anchorage, Alaska, in June 1977. In 2001, Alene and Kenneth returned to Centralia, where they spent their remaining years. 

A devoted Christian, Alene’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was actively involved in her church community, sharing her love for God with everyone she met. Her kindness, compassion and unwavering faith left a lasting impact on all who knew her. 

Professionally, Alene was a successful real estate agent, known for her dedication, integrity and hard work. She took great pride in helping families find their perfect homes and was highly respected by her colleagues and clients alike. 

Alene was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Palmer; her granddaughter, Charlotte Kay Reas; and her brother, Wayne Wright. She is survived by her two brothers, Robert Wright and Keith Wright; four children; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren, who will all miss her dearly. Her legacy of love, faith and devotion will continue to live on through them. 

A memorial service to celebrate Alene’s life will be held at 1 p.m. June 1 at Centralia Church of the Nazarene. 

Charlotte “Alene” Palmer will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
