Posted

Betty A. Wolfe, age 72, a resident of Winlock, entered the gates of heaven painlessly and peacefully at Providence Centralia Hospital on Aug. 26, 2021, at 2:14 p.m. after a long, hard fight with COVID-19 and pneumonia. This lovely woman was born on Sept. 20, 1948, at Joint Base Lewis-McChord to her parents Thomas and Helen Harmon. She is survived by her loving husband Timothy Wolfe who was married to her for 51 years since July 6, 1970. She is also carried on by her son Christopher Wolfe, his wife Francis and their three children Joshua Carnell, David Carnell and his wife Micah (also expecting Betty’s first twin great-granddaughters), and her lovely Elizabeth Wolfe (baby BooBoo). She was the oldest of her five siblings and their spouses; Tommy Harmon (spouse Larraine), Dorothy Plaster (spouse Pat), Barbara Harmon, Edward Harmon and Timmy Harmon (spouse Michelle). Betty is also survived by her husband’s siblings and their spouses; Verna Meyers, Ken Mills, Tom Wolfe (spouse Mary), Gary Wolfe, Theresa Thomas, Tina Callaghan (spouse Arie) and Rod Wolfe (spouse Renae). She is also loved by many more including her numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Betty is preceded by both her parents Thomas and Helen Harmon, mother and father-in-law Ernestine and Vernon Wolfe, her amiable daughter Michelle Wolfe, younger brother Christopher Harmon, nephew Sandy Harmon, sister-in-law Linda Mills and her copious amounts of pets.

She attended Aquinas All Girls Academy where she developed numerous friendships which are still ongoing. Betty graduated high school from Wilson Woodrow in Tacoma, Washington in 1966. She attended college and earned an early childhood development degree. Betty spent several years working in early childhood development, including at her grandchildren’s school, Winlock Miller Elementary and High School.

One of Betty's many passions was sewing. Here in Winlock, she was involved in a small sewing group with some of her close friends. When her kids, nieces and nephews were young, she even had her own seamstress business called Aunt Betty’s Closet where she would create so many articles of clothing and other items for them. She has made several quilts for family and friends that will be cherished for a lifetime and passed along. Betty has also received numerous awards at the Southwest Washington Fair for some of these pieces. When Betty invests her time into something, she does so with her whole heart.

“I hope someday I can make fudge the same way she did.” - Elizabeth.
