Carol LaVonne White, 89, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, in Centralia, Washington. Born in Maywood, California, she lived a life full of love, creativity and devotion to her family.
Carol graduated from Lakeview High School in Decatur, Illinois, on June 2, 1953, and built a meaningful career as an eligibility supervisor for Los Angeles County, where she served with compassion and care.
Carol once wrote, “I love life and so many things — things like hats, gloves, dolls, dishes, books, pictures (especially family), teapots, creative projects like card making and scrapbooks.” She filled her home with love, tradition and creativity.
Carol was also an enthusiastic member of the Red Hat Society. In 2005, she helped form the Razzle Dazzle Divas chapter, a group of vibrant women who gathered often to celebrate friendship, fun and fabulous hats. Known as the “Favorite Diva Queen,” she brought sparkle and joy to every gathering. Her bright smile and whimsical hats also made her an unforgettable greeter at the Nazarene Church in Centralia, where she was well known and loved.
Carol is survived by her daughters, Tami (Dennis) Kozisek and Lauri (Steve) Nelson; her grandchildren, Sara Nelson, Jeb (Sarah) Kozisek and Heather Kaiser; her great-granddaughter, Oaklee Orr; and her siblings, Shirley Jones, Patsy Butler, Marti McCabe-William and Fran
Addison. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Hardin.
A celebration of life will be held on June 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene in Centralia. This come-and-go gathering is open to all who wish to remember Carol and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
