In Loving Memory of Clifford Stone Jr.: 1970-2023

Clifford Lee Stone Jr. passed away on April 1, 2023, at Providence Centralia Hospital at the age of 52. 

He was born Oct. 23, 1970, in Toppenish, Washington, to Clifford and Kathy (McKenzie) Stone and lived in the Tacoma area until age 5 when his family moved to Onalaska, Washington, in 1976. Cliff attended Onalaska schools and graduated in 1989. 

He met and loved Shawna Barrett in 1994 and they had a son, Nicholas Stone, in 1995 whom he loved very much. 

He worked in farming, dairy, sawmill, logging, construction, fabricator, heavy equipment operator, carpentry, mechanics and maintenance. He enjoyed work and was a hard worker who was innovative and valued for his knowledge, adaptability and good work relations with others. 

He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, rock hounding, rock polishing, beading, woodworking, playing board games with family and fireworks with big boomers. He loved dogs and cats and they loved him. 

He was a deeply caring person and had a heart full of love. 

Cliff is survived by his son, Nicholas Lynn Stone, of Napa, California; parents, Clifford and Kathy, of Onalaska; sisters, Lori Rae Amodio (Earl), of Yakima, Washington, and Lynette Burdine (Lonnie), of Federal Way, Washington; sister-in-law, Angie Dobbs, of Wilder, Idaho; four nieces; six nephews; five great-nieces and nephews; and many other loving family and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Lee Dobbs, of Wilder, Idaho. 

There will be a viewing from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2023, at Cattermole Funeral Home. 

Interment will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023,at the Shoestring Valley Cemetery at 104 Frase Road, Onalaska, with a celebration of life and meal following at the adjacent church. Arrangements are under the care of Cattermole Funeral Home, Winlock.
