Floyd Aldrich was born the third of six children to Earl and Elsie Aldrich. He went to Adna High School where he met his lifelong love, Virginia Mullins, who had moved to Adna from California. They married in 1949 and were married for more than 73 years. They had four children, Micheal Edward, Aretta Leilani, Elizabeth Ellen and Timothy Floyd. He is survived by his wife and all four children and their spouses, Vicki Aldrich, Steven R. Lantz and Amanda Aldrich. He had seven grandchildren, Cheri Johnson, Randy Aldrich, Melissa McKinnon, Timothy Lantz, Daniel Lantz, Jonathan Aldrich and Seraschel Aldrich. He had 10 great-grandchildren.
He was very proud to own and operate Central Automotive Supply in Centralia with his son, Micheal, for many years. He retired at 62 to travel around the United States in their brand new motorhome.
He loved fishing, camping, motorhoming with his “Good Sam” Club, football, golfing, red cars and the “ION” channel. He was a rock hound and traveled to Arizona several times to prospect, hike and enjoy the sunshine. He tumbled his own agates, cut rocks and made many beautiful items for family and friends. He and his wife traveled to China, England, France and Mexico, and he especially loved Hawaiian vacations with his wife. One of his favorite destinations in Washington was the beaches, where he dug for clams, fished, walked on the beach and always found a great place for an ice cream cone. He loved animals and had many pets throughout the years, but loved dogs especially. His sweetheart chihuahua mix Lola and Elsa, their American eskimo, were his constant companions in the last few years. He enjoyed family functions, good conversation, fun banter with loved ones and always a good meal with friends and family.
There were celebrations held for every milestone birthday and anniversary where friends could gather for a good time of food and talk. He became a member of the Harrison Square Presbyterian Church in Centralia and was baptized in March 2022.
He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. Go Seahawks! He loved football.
