Gary Gene Welker was a true Northwest enthusiast and had roots planted in both Oregon and Washington. He spent the majority of his life in Bucoda where he nursed his mother “Bennie” until her death a few years ago. Gary leaves behind a son Chris Welker (eldest), a daughter Bambi Hatch (middle), and the sweetest boy in the world, Cody Welker (youngest). Gary was a brother to Bobby Welker of Roseburg, Oregon.
With his untimely passing, Gary also leaves behind dozens of friends in the community of Bucoda and his congregation at the Violet Prairie Church, all of which are praying for his eternal happiness.
Gary was an Army veteran and served his country with pride.
If Gary could say one thing today it would be that he prays for everyone’s safety and happiness nightly.
His memory will live strong through his surviving children.
Gary will be buried with other family members at the Forest Grove Cemetery just north of Bucoda. The ceremony will be in late September.
