In loving memory of Herbert Robinson: 1945-2024

Herbert Allen Robinson died Oct. 14, 2024. He was born March 29, 1945. 

He graduated from W.F. West High School in Chehalis. He was in the U.S. Navy from July 1964 to August 1966 and earned two decorations while serving in Vietnam. 

He then worked in the logging industry. Years later, he joined the Operating Engineers Union 612 for 40- plus years. He worked at the Widco coal mine and became one of several legends there. He retired after working in the paving industry. 

Herb had a love of the outdoors and a lifetime of hunting and fishing. He started "Robinson's Guide Service" with his beloved boat the "Untamed.” 

Herb is survived by his two younger sisters, Kay Anderson, of Chehalis, and Linda (Dan) Walker, of Idaho; his children, Mark(Melissa) Robinson, of Centralia, Tara Robinson, of Chehalis, Gina (Paul) Snow, of Rochester, Shannon (Clark) Dutton, of Montana, and Tanya (Jim) Baker, of Tenino; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

He never met a stranger and had many lifelong friends. 

A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Skookumchuck Grange. Bring a side dish if you wish.
