Posted
Jacqueline Mae Lusk, 73, passed away at home on May 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Jackie was born on Nov. 29, 1950, in Artesia, California. Her family moved to Doty, Washington, in 1967.

She married her high school sweetheart, Leslie Lusk, on Aug. 27, 1971. After they were married, they settled in Port Orchard, Washington. Jackie put her career on hold to raise her two daughters, Cherie and Jody Lusk. When they were older, she went to college and received her associate degree. She then became employed at Naval Submarine Base Bangor in Silverdale, Washington, until she retired in 2016.

After her retirement, Jackie and Les moved back to Doty. Jackie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved celebrating birthdays and holidays with large gatherings of family and friends.

Jackie had the kindest heart and was loved by so many people. She was as quick witted as the wings of a hummingbird and had a great sense of humor.

Jackie is survived by her husband of 52 years, Les Lusk; her daughter, Cherie Lusk Wright (Terence); two grandsons, Jackson Lusk and Vaughn Wright; sisters, Judy Lorentz, Jan James, Nancy (Hort) Fisher and Susie Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Jody Lusk; parents, Edward (Jack) and Erma Slaughter; brother, Vernon (Butch) Slaughter; and nephews, Tom Fisher and Andy Anderson.

There will be a potluck celebration of life for Jackie at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the VFW Hall in Pe Ell, Washington.
