In Loving Memory of James Harrison Hefty: 1956-2022

Posted

Jim was born in Corona, California, to James and Phyllis Hefty.

Jim spent most of his adult life in Honolulu, Hawaii working for WDI. For the benefit of spending more time with his family, Jim moved back to the mainland while continuing to work for WDI in Portland and Seattle. In 2016, Jim retired and moved to Morton. His family was very thankful to spend the remainder of his life with him.

Jim enjoyed the Hawaiian lifestyle, catamaran sailing, driving with the top down and hanging out with his close friends and loved ones. Jim was always brilliant. He could do the New York Times crossword puzzle in ink. Making his family and friends smile and laugh by singing and dancing was always one of his favorite things to do.

Jim is preceded in death by his father, James Hefty, and his brother, Jason Hefty. He is survived by his mother Phyllis Ilder; his four sisters Deborah Christian (Harrison), Rebecca Wiley (Calvin), Tambra Hobbs (Jerry) and Minta Layman (Climeth); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 333 Seventh St., Morton, Washington.
