Posted

Our beloved mother Karen Palmer Snider was called home to our Heavenly Father on Easter Sunday on April 9, 2023. She passed away peacefully at her home in Chehalis, Washington surrounded by family.

She was born in Salt Lake City Utah, on March 26, 1941, to Emmett and Chestina Palmer. Most of her childhood was spent in Rupert, Idaho. That’s where she met and then married Charles (Charlie) Snider. They ended up settling in the Centralia, Washington area. Karen and Charlie had nine children together, six boys and three girls.

Most of Karen’s adult life was spent as a homemaker, where she would make her children’s clothing and can food from their garden. She also took joy in attending church activities and being around her friends. In her later years, she enjoyed working at Applebee’s in Chehalis as a hostess. She loved the interaction with her co-workers and her customers. They became a second family to her. Karen had a strong faith and was very proud of being a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents Emmett and Chestina Palmer; former husband Charlie; sons Eddie and Jason; brothers Curtis, Larry and Lonny; her sister Sherry; and grandson Jeremy.

She is survived by her sister Deanna Sweet; her three daughters, Christy (Gary) Greenwood, Dena Lamb and Jonica Snider; four sons Jim (Milissia) Snider, John (Angel) Snider, Daniel (Robyn) Snider and Joshua Snider; 22 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2195 Jackson Highway, Chehalis, Washington, 98532.
