Leo J. Rakoz, a pillar of strength and dedication, passed away on July 27, 2024, just four days after his 87th birthday. Born in 1937 to Edna and Paul Rakoz, he was the second eldest of four children, with siblings Marie, Marlene and Daniel.

On April 14, 1956, Leo married the love of his life, Mary Catherine Roberts. Together, they built a life full of love and purpose, raising their two sons, Rick and Randy. In 1983, Leo and Mary embarked on a new venture, founding Rakoz Electric. For 29 years, Leo's relentless work ethic and unwavering dedication drove the success of the business, showcasing his remarkable ability to outwork even the youngest among us. After the business closed, Leo continued to inspire those around him with his boundless energy and commitment.

Mary, who preceded him in death in 2018, was his partner in both life and work, and their legacy of love and hard work lives on through their family. Leo is survived by his sons, Rick (Cindy) and Randy (Kim); four beloved grandchildren, Ryan, Andy, Megan and Taylor; and six great-grandchildren, Hannah, Benny, Peyton, Reese, Layne and Maggie.

Leo cherished spending time with his family and traveling with Mary. He maintained lifelong friendships and was an active community member. He enjoyed hunting with his sons and loved to remodel and build homes. His legacy of love, hard work and community spirit will be remembered fondly. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
