In Loving Memory of Leslie Ewer: 1948-2023

Posted

Leslie (Williams) Ewer passed away peacefully on the afternoon of March 23, 2023, at St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington. Her passing came one year and a day after losing the love of her life, Leon Ewer, to whom she was married for 47 years.

Born June 22, 1948, to Leroy and Lorraine Williams, Leslie grew up in Centralia, Washington, and graduated from Centralia High School in 1966. She attended Central Washington University where she graduated with a degree in education. She went on to complete an exemplary career at Liberty High School, teaching business classes where she touched the lives of so many students.

Leslie married Leon Ewer on June 22, 1974, in Centralia. Together they enjoyed many outdoor activities including fishing, camping, boating and clam digging.

Those who knew Leslie will attest to her sense of humor, her infectious laugh and her positive attitude no matter what task fell to her. She embraced life, family and friends with an infectious enthusiasm. Never shy, Leslie never met a stranger and treated everyone with respect and sincerity whether their station in life was high or low.

Leslie was preceded in death by her parents and, of course, Leon. She is survived by her sister Lynn Logue, her children Shane Ewer and Shevelle Mynatt, nephew Jay Logue, six grandchildren, three great-grandsons, numerous cousins and an enormous number of friends, colleagues and students.

At Leslie’s request, there will be no memorial service. She would be thrilled if those whose lives were touched by her exchange “Leslie stories” and hugs as you gather with family and friends.

Her ashes will be combined with those of Leon and placed at one of their favorite sites.
