Lloyd Frank Bartel, of Kingman, Arizona, passed away on Sept.13, 2024, at the age of 80 at his home. He was born on Dec. 2, 1943, in Tacoma, Washington, to Bernard and Beatrice (Street) Bartel.
Lloyd spent his early years attending school in Pe Ell before transferring to Centralia High School for his senior year, where he enjoyed playing football. He liked swimming and scuba diving and was a former Murky Lurker. Lloyd also cherished life's simple pleasures, including his love of ice cream, good food, a chess game and traveling. Lloyd proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard before embarking on a successful 43-year career as a heavy equipment diesel mechanic with NC Machinery. His dedication, work ethic and expertise earned him respect from colleagues and clients.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Chong Suk Bartel; his sister, Sharon Mitchell; his brother, Richard (Rosyln) Bartel; his three children, Ann (Von) Heinricher, Soonhee Bailey (Scott Stone) and Tony (Tamara) Bartel; his cherished grandchildren, Jake (Sara) Heinricher, Mahlia (Luke) Steelhammer, Makena and Amanda Bailey, and Nolan, Haiden and Madden Bartel; great-grandchildren, Ky, Hudson, Sophie, Hayes and Rhett Heinricher, and Briella Bartel.
