Posted

Lois Norine Jones, 100, of Curtis, Washington, passed away on May 4, 2023, at Sharon Care Center.

She was born on Jan. 8, 1923, to George Oliver Day and Lois Miller Day in Elma, Washington. Norine’s father sadly died 10 days after her first birthday. Her mother later married a former Boistfort classmate, Hugh Lynn Morgan. Norine attended schools in Elma, Seattle, Boistfort and Mossyrock, graduating from Mossyrock High School in 1940. She later graduated from business college in Seattle.

Norine married Edgar Allen Jones on April 2, 1950, uniting two Boistfort pioneer families. They spent their 73 years of marriage at the home they built on the original Jones Diary Farm. Grange membership was an important commitment for Norine. She was a member of the Baw Faw Grange for more than 70 years and earned certificates of recognition in Washington State and National Grange associations. However, family and friends were always the first priority for Norine and Edgar.

Norine was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, George Melvin Day, Donald Richard Morgan, Hugh Lynn Morgan, Joseph Exley Morgan and William Henry Morgan as well as her sister-in-laws.

Norine is survived by her husband, Edgar Jones; her sister-in-law, Nellie; and her many nieces and nephews.
