Mary Catherine Oldham was born on April 8, 1944, in Oakland, California. She attended St. Elizabeth Catholic School from 1st to 12th grade.
In 1963, she met her husband, Roy Oldham, who was stationed at Naval Air Station Alameda. They married on June 6th, 1964. They had two daughters, Sherri and Debbie. Mary worked various jobs, including clerical and banking, while raising their family.
She and her husband were very involved in their local parish, St. John the Baptist, in San Lorenzo, California. Some ministries they were involved in included RCIA, Chrisio, Eucharistic Minster, Lector, and the Knights of Columbus, where she was a Lady Knight and part of the Women’s Guild.
Upon retiring in 1997, they moved to Oakhurst and built a home in Ahwahnee, California. They were part of the parish family that built the church, Our Lady of the Sierra.
She participated alongside her husband in many of the Knights of Columbus' functions, including distributing wheelchairs and school supplies to children and adults in Mexico.
While Mary supported her husband in his service through the Knights, she had a passion for children in need and the unborn. Her tenderness also extended to the elderly and housebound. Throughout her life, her faith was shown in all that she did and to all those she came into contact with.
After Roy’s death, she moved to Washington State, where she lived for ten years. Her focus remained on her faith and family until her passing.
Mary has touched countless lives during her time on Earth, as we have been reminded of by many people, even since she was called to eternal life.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Sherri Perkins (Frank) and Debbie Oldham (Jess); Grandchildren James Perkins (Kim), Joseph Perkins (Shannon), Danielle Wood (Christian), John Arias, Jacqueline Arias (Jordan) and Roxanne Arias; Great-Grandchildren Janna and Elise Perkins, Wylie Perkins, Sierra and Gabe Wood, Elijah Arias, Emily Parsons, and Elisabella Frank.
