In Loving Memory of Nadene Pehl: 1933-2022

Posted

Nadene L. Pehl (Nana to her treasured grandchildren) passed away peacefully in Chehalis on Aug. 3, 2022, at the age of 89 years old.

Nadene was born in Nunn, Colorado on July 6, 1933. Her family moved to Camas, Washington, where she graduated from high school in 1951.

Nadene met the love of her life, Willis G. Pehl, in 1954 and they were married shortly thereafter on Oct. 8, 1955. They shared 61 years of marriage, love and hundreds of adventures together. Will passed away on June 24, 2016, at age 91. How she missed him so. The family takes great comfort knowing they are together once again.

Nadene built family traditions that will live on for generations to come. From hosting holiday and birthday celebrations around the pool, to showing her grandkids how to churn butter the old fashioned way each Thanksgiving. Nadene was all about her family. Nadene welcomed family at any time of the day with open arms and a wonderful meal or treat she had just prepared.

Nadene also enjoyed the sun and spending her winters with her husband and friends in Sun Lakes, Arizona. Nadene and Will entertained countless friends and family during their long winters in Arizona.

Nadene was also a Washington State University fan through and through. She logged several hundred hours traveling across the state, singing the fight song to cheer on her beloved Cougars. Nadene was also lucky enough to go to several Cougar bowl games with her family and friends.

Nadene is survived by her three children, Lynne Pehl Calvert (Doug), Cheryl Kostick (Dave) and Robert Pehl (Heidi); six grandchildren, Marylynne Kostick, Allison Murphy (Colin), Niles Kostick (Stephanie), William Linehan, Caitlin Wesen (Colten) and Robert Pehl Jr. (Alice); and three great-grandchildren Madeline Murphy, Makenzie Murphy and Louise Kostick.

A special thank you to Silver Acres and their family of loving angels for the care they showed Nadene during her final weeks.

A private graveside ceremony was held on Aug. 17, 2022, at Claquato Cemetery where Nadene and Will are together again.
