In Loving Memory of Nadyne Tauscher: 1944-2023

Posted

Nadyne Tauscher lost her fight with cancer after six years surrounded by the friends and family who loved her the most.

She was born in Chehalis and raised at the Rakoz Dairy Farm in the Little Hanaford Valley. After graduating from St. Mary's Academy in Toledo, she went to Seattle where she attended Peterson School of Business. After a time she went on to become an independent fee appraiser. Her career lasted 42 years, which became her life.

She loved to travel, which took her to many different countries. She loved hunting, clam digging, flying (as a licenced pilot), pinochle parties, cooking, and entertaining at home. She met many people throughout her life and career who became her circle of friends. She was proud of the life and home she built in Centralia.

She was preceded in death by her parents Matthew John Rakoz and Florence Catherine (Brousen) Rakoz.

She is survived by her siblings Regina Wilkins (Dean), Ken Rakoz (Angie), Lavonne Wiley (Ron), daughter Annette (Edwards) Tauscher, grandchildren Maryah, Lacey Foster and four great-grandchildren.

She was on the Lewis County Board of Realtors, NW Multiple Listing Services, RM Candidate-American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers, past Chehalis City Representative, past Secretary of Toledo Flying Club, past Commissioner- Centralia Historic Preservation Commission, and Commissioner- Lewis County Flood Control District #2.

Her family and friends would like to thank UW Medical Center, Fred Hutchinson, Cancer Care for all the care they gave her these last years. Providence Hospice came home with her and their kindness made her final days peaceful.

These last few years Nadyne had her "guy," Dave Towne, who took care of her properties and her home. As her cancer progressed he was taxi service, caregiver and confidant and was with her for her journey.

She will be missed.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Fred Hutchinson in her name.

A celebration of her life will be at a later date.
