In Loving Memory of Raymond Ross: 1944-2023

Raymond Andrew Rosswas born on March 10, 1944, in Chehalis, Washington, and passed away at his home in Phoenix, Arizona on Feb. 3, 2023.

In his early years, Raymond lived in Lewis County and attended St.Mary’s Academy in Toledo.The family moved to Bandon, Oregon for a few years, but came back to LewisCounty where Raymond attended and graduated from the Onalaska School District in 1962.

Shortly after graduating from high school, Raymond enrolled in the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut and graduated as an officer.  Raymond spent his career serving in various locations across the United States and also spent a short time in Vietnam. He eventually retired as a lieutenant commander based in Washington, D.C.

During his time in the service, he married Diane Pigman, from Centralia. They had a baby girl, Brandy Ross. He and Diane later divorced. Brandy gave him three beautiful grandkids, Jameson, Tabitha and Sydney. After he retired from the Coast Guard, he reconnected with his high school friend, Linda. They were married in Morton, Washington and then moved to Arizona where they spent many years together until her passing in 2021.

Raymond is preceded in death by his mother, Mae Helland, brothers Donald Ross (Sylvia) and Robert Ross (Karen), and his wife, Linda Ross. He is survived by his daughter Brandy (Jozette); grandchildren Jameson, Tabitha and Sydney; and his brother Frank Ross (Jackie), along with several nieces and nephews.

Raymond had an infectious laugh and a witty sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
