In Loving Memory of Teresa Peterson: 1947-2023

Posted

Teresa Ann (Brick) Peterson went to be with our savior on April 14, 2023. Teresa was 75. Teresa was born in Chehalis to Byron and Anne (Walch) Brick on Sept. 5, 1947. Teresa was blind at birth, but that did not stop her from living a full and rewarding life. Teresa attended the Washington State School for the Blind in Vancouver and graduated in 1968. While attending school there as a young child, she met Jack Peterson and years later their paths crossed and she married Jack on March 17, 1984. They just recently celebrated 39 years together.

Teresa had a satisfying work career despite her blindness. She worked for the Lighthouse for the Blind and also as a quality control receptionist for a large window company. Teresa went through training with The Seeing Eye organization in order to be placed with the many guide dogs she had over her working career. Teresa recently retired her loyal guide dog Farah.

One of Teresa's proudest achievements was studying for and passing the exam to receive her Ham Radio technician license in 2019. Teresa and Jack were both members of the local CVARS Radio Club. KJ7JKB is now Silent Key.

Teresa and Jack moved from Mountlake Terrace in 2017 to be closer to her sister and her family. They began attending church at Calvary Chapel and Teresa attended the Wednesday Ladies Bible Study Group, where she loved spending time with the very special ladies of the group.

Teresa is survived by her husband Jack, stepdaughter Amy Taute, brother Mike Brick (Alex), sister Bev McAllister (Wayne), three step grandsons, four nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Casey Brick.

A memorial service will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the Calvary Chapel Church, 2308 N. Pearl St., Centralia. Light lunch will be served.

You were so loved and will be missed by many.
