The Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team (JNET) and the Centralia Police Department helped the Castle Rock Police Department locate and arrest a forgery and theft suspect in Centralia on Tuesday.
The suspect, Cory Hamilton, was wanted for forgery and theft for allegedly fleeing from a Cowlitz County business after attempting to pass a counterfeit $100 bill, according to a JNET news release.
Centralia’s Flock Safety camera system alerted JNET and Centralia patrol units that Hamilton’s vehicle was in Centralia at approximately 6 p.m. on Nov. 26, according to the news release.
JNET detectives and Centralia Police Department patrol units located Hamilton’s vehicle and arrested him without incident, according to the news release.
The execution of a search warrant on the vehicle yielded stolen property, several counterfeit $100 bills, a loaded handgun, approximately 150 small blue pills marked M/30 and suspected to contain fentanyl, approximately 3.5 ounces of meth and scales and other packaging material.
He was booked into the Cowlitz County Jail on the Castle Rock Police Department charges on Nov. 26. Jail records indicate he was released just after 7:35 p.m. the next day, Nov. 27.
