Fourteen people were arrested at a home on East Chestnut Street in Centralia known as the “Circus House" on Tuesday, according to a news release from the Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team (JNET).

"During the last decade, a residence on East Chestnut Street in Centralia has become a major source of calls for service for the Centralia Police Department,” JNET stated in the release. “From felony assaults to multiple drug overdoses to four train vs. pedestrian fatalities, 202 E. Chestnut St. has been a hot spot for criminal activity. The residence is known by both locals and the police as the 'Circus House' due to the high volume of illegal and unusual behavior.”

Last week, Centralia police officers were dispatched to 202 E. Chestnut St. for an unrelated issue when they observed multiple marijuana plants growing on the property. This information was passed on to JNET detectives who were able to obtain a search warrant for the property.

"Early this morning, detectives from JNET, HSI (Homeland Security Investigations), DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) and TNT (Thurston County Narcotic Task Force), along with officers and detectives from the Centralia Police Department, served a search warrant at the Circus House,” JNET stated in the release. "Located during the search were approximately 10 large potted marijuana plants, 15 hanging/drying marijuana plants, 3 pounds of processed marijuana, marijuana growing equipment, packaging, scales, user amounts of methamphetamine and fentanyl, and a plethora of drug paraphernalia. More than 18 people were located on the property during the service of the warrant. Of those 18 people, 14 were arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail on drug possession charges. Additional charges are pending for several other occupants of the address.

"The Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team is committed to identifying and arresting those who choose to sell and distribute poisonous drugs in our communities.”

No additional information is being released at this time. Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call the Centralia Police Department at 360-330-7680 or Lewis County Communications at 360-740-1105.
