Longview will host a debate between Joe Kent and Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez in the hotly-contested race for the House of Representatives.
The two candidates for the 3rd Congressional District will be on stage at 7 p.m. Oct 2 at Lower Columbia College’s Wollenberg Auditorium for a debate hosted by the Civil Dialogue Project.
Stephen Warning, debate moderator and founder of the Civil Dialogue Project, said Wednesday morning Kent had agreed to participate in the debate after originally declining the invitation in August. The event would have been a Q&A session with Gluesenkamp Perez if Kent had not participated.
In 2022, the auditorium hosted a debate between the two candidates that was moderated by Oregon Public Broadcasting’s “Think Out Loud” program.
The Congressional debate will be the last in a series of four election debates being held on Wednesdays by the Civil Dialogue Project.
