July Chamber of Commerce forum to feature Southwest Washington Grain Project

The Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce’s July Forum will feature Port of Chehalis Operations Manager Bill Teitzel as the guest speaker.

The forum will be held from 8 to 9 a.m. Thursday, July 11, at NW Salmon Smokehouse, 486 N. Market Blvd., Chehalis.

Teitzel will discuss the port’s Southwest Washington Grain Project, which is a collaboration with Lewis County and the Southwest Washington Growers Cooperative.



“A number of challenges threaten agriculture in Southwest Washington, including flood events, development pressure and loss of processing facilities, among others,” the chamber stated in a news release. “The SW Washington Grain Project responds to those challenges.The forum offers an opportunity to learn more about this unique plan to stabilize and grow regional farming and other ag related businesses.”

The forum is open to the public. The chamber encourages business owners and leaders to participate. Members of the chamber and non-members are welcome.

“This is a good opportunity to meet other businesses, learn about issues important to Lewis County businesses and hear about chamber programs,” the chamber stated in the release.
