Tennis lessons are available for the first three weeks of July at the W.F. West High School tennis courts for all youth ages 6 and over.

On Mondays through Thursdays through July 20, according to the City of Chehalis Parks and Recreation Department’s website, lessons for kids ages 6 through middle school are available from 10 to 11 a.m. From 11 a.m. to noon on the same days, lessons are available for high school students, and students do not need to be from Chehalis to participate.

Fridays are reserved for make-up lessons, which will be required when it rains.

One four-day set of classes costs $30. Scholarships are available and single day lessons, with pre-registration, can be purchased for $10 per day. Players must bring one can of balls and their own racket.

Classes are taught by T.J. Underwood, a Chehalis-based teaching professional. Jack State, W.F. West High School’s tennis coach, also participates, and volunteer coaches help out.

In the final week of July, players in sixth grade and older can participate in a more advanced half-day camp from 9 a.m. to noon. The full camp costs $100.
