Kolb strikes out 15 to help Mossyrock beat Naselle

In one of the standout pitching performances of the season, Easton Kolb struck out 15 in six innings on the mound and pushed the Vikings to a 1-0 non-league victory over the Comets on Wednesday night in Mossyrock.

Kolb allowed just three hits, one of them for extra bases, and three walks. He got out of a bases-loaded jam in the top of the third with one out with back-to-back strikeouts, then wiggled out of a two-on, no-out situation in the sixth with three straight outs.

“That’s the best I’ve seen Easton pitch,” Mossyrock head coach Darren Kolb said. “His offspeed was falling in there and it kept them off balance. That was a big one.”

The Vikings plated the lone run of the night on an RBI double by Hunter Isom one batter after Wylde Greisen led off the bottom of the fourth inning with a double.
