Letter to the editor: Centralia School District rising strong in new school year

Posted

We are excited for the year ahead. We are embarking on a new school year and a new opportunity to influence the learning and lives of our Centralia School District students. The Centralia School District theme for 2023-2024 is “Rising Strong: Success, No Excuses!”

We are committed to rising strong each and every day to stronger and stronger levels of instruction and service, so our students rise to stronger and stronger levels of academic achievement. In our strategic plan, we have aspirational goals for our district and our students of 85% of students achieving on grade level or higher in reading, math and science by 2026. We will not achieve these goals overnight, but we will achieve them by rising to stronger and stronger levels of instruction and service each and every day. We are committed as a district to that action. We will be relentless in our continued effort to improve.

I invite you to join us in rising strong for our students. Encourage a student you know to do their best and to commit to rising strong to higher and higher levels each day. Volunteer in our schools: there are multiple opportunities to help a student, a classroom or a school.

If you have a question or concern, please reach out. We want you to have the information you need and answers to your questions. Your concerns help us in rising strong to better serve our students. We have a place on our website to submit questions and concerns. You are welcome to call the district office at 360-330-7600, or you can email me directly at lgrant@centralia.wednet.edu.

Together, Team Centralia is rising strong in 2023-2024. I continue to be honored to serve as your superintendent.
