Letter to the Editor: Democrats Reaching for Scare Tactics in Tired Playbook

Posted

I read a recent article in the Chronicle about the Democratic candidate for the 3rd Congressional District, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez.

I see that she is using the same rhetoric about abortions that seems to be coming from the Democratic playbook because all the candidates say the same thing.

If she truly had a miscarriage, I am sorry for her loss, but to say that she needed an abortion afterwards and wasn't sure she could get one was "misinformation."

Why would you need an abortion after a miscarriage? A miscarriage is a spontaneous abortion, another name for miscarriage, meaning that for a variety of reasons, the body rejected that pregnancy.

What she needed was called a DNC and I'm sure that's what she had and I'm certain that's what the doctor called it because they know the difference. I won't go into details about the procedure but it's common and safe. To make it sound like there might not be any health care for a situation like this is harmful and untrue.

The fact that they continue to say that women's health care is being taken away is a ruse, as well. To infer that doctors are going to let women die is dangerous and very misguided. Health care, birth control and other women's health issues related to reproduction will still be available, just not abortion, which is getting rid of a fetus. Big difference.

Pay attention to what they're saying. Most of it is just scare tactics.
