Letter to the editor: In response to confused letter writer

Posted

A recent letter to The Chronicle listed some realities the writer was confused about.

"If gas was $2.69 per gallon, you know that it was 2019," and Donald Trump was doing the "Sword Dance" with his journalist murdering Saudi buddies. Of course they like Trump more than Biden.

Grocery prices are higher than in 2019 thanks in large part to a COVID-19 pandemic prolonged by a president who recommended injecting bleach as a cure.

In 2019, there was no war in Ukraine. If Trump were still president, there would be no war in Ukraine because Trump would have cheered his murderous pal Putin all the way to Kyiv. There would be war in Israel because Trump would continue to empower and embolden his partner in corruption, Bebe Netanyahu.

It is 2024, and inflation will drop below 3% and there will be no recession thanks to a competent President Biden. Unemployment is at record lows, manufacturing is returning to the United States, wages are outpacing inflation and we are about to see a huge economic boost with a multitude of new infrastructure jobs. Jobs that Trump was always going to get to "next week."

President Biden is not interfering in the presidential election except on FOX News. Biden did not instigate and cheer on an attack on our nation's capital, and when asked to return classified documents he had inadvertently taken, he did so without hesitation. When you send your toadies to Georgia to bully election workers, they can expect a $148 million defamation judgment against them.

MAGAs do not want a real solution at the border. They simply want as many brown-skinned people kept out of the U.S.as possible, even though we need their labor.

The letter writer does not say which way he thinks up is.
