There's a faction of Lewis County Republicans who believe that they are the arbitrators of what is and isn't an acceptable and good Republican. This faction of Republicans are very likely “Never Trump Republicans.” They more than likely tune into TikTok Sean Hannity at Faux News nightly, voted for Jaime Herrera Beutler and then abandoned Joe Kent in 2022 because he was the wrong type of Republican.
This faction will quote Ronald Reagan about not attacking fellow Republicans and then turn around and form their own Republican coalition, while at the same time speaking of unity.
This faction will throw fellow Republicans under a bus by publicly aligning them with White Supremacists with both an official speech and a personal email of the speech to a Chronicle reporter.
This faction also has a very large space through Chronicle columnist Julie McDonald at The Chronicle to educate us unacceptable Republicans the efficacy of worthless cloth and paper masks, or an experimental "vaccine" that neither stops a virus or the spread of it, or her personal disdain for President Trump. McDonald and her cohort Republican faction also believe that a cognitively impaired old man legitimately had 81 million real people vote for him in 2020. McDonald will Google search and find an article or a "Fact Checker" site that will prove there was no evidence of a stolen election; it's all just a conspiracy theory.
Never mind the 923 fact witnesses, 50-plus courts blocking evidentiary hearings or videos showing ballots being scanned multiple times. Instead of sniping Lewis County Republicans in her commentaries, maybe McDonald and her cohorts should question why Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez had two states send her a 2022 midterm ballot to vote to her Washougal home.
This Lewis County Republican faction is milk toast, cocktail Republicans, that continue to believe that they can work across the aisle with today's progressive left Democrats. This faction is the reason why Gov. Jay Inslee was able to stomp all over the rights of Washington citizens with his unchecked COVID-19 mandates, or their unconstitutional ban on a sale of a rifle, or how the progressive left in Washington was able to pass Senate Bill 5599.
On the national level, the “Never Trump Republicans” are even worse than the progressive left.
It appears that Lewis County now has this same divide and it's why we now have a progressive left congressional representative. There's a reason why Trump has been impeached twice, says he had a reelection stolen from him and was indicted three times. And no, Julie McDonald, it's not because Trump isn't a decent human being. It's because he's a threat to a very corrupt D.C. and corporate media system — the D.C. Uni-Party.
