An ordinance prohibiting homeless encampments on county lands is a mistake. Do the ordinance supporters think the homeless will thereby simply disappear? In fact, I think county land is the best place for them to stay.
Prohibition doesn't solve the problem; it is simply a case of "out of sight, out of mind."
Where else are these people to go? Burying your head in the sand doesn't solve the problem.
