How refreshing to read your upbeat view on the future of Centralia, Kelly.
Goodness knows, we have lots to do to make Centralia an A-plus place to live, but “what you believe will shape what you see” — a glass half-empty, or a glass half-full.
The distressing articles in our media are often based on truth, but not always the whole truth or the whole story, and people seem all too willing to complain rather than to become better informed and look for the solutions.
Your gracious leadership of Centralia City Council and your engagement with the many activities in our community send a positive example of how the rest of us could help contribute to that bright future for Centralia that you see.
It’s so easy to sit on the sidelines and grumble, but I know from experience there are many others in our community who are volunteering to help us reach the goal.
Since you became mayor, I’ve become a regular viewer of the Centralia City Council meetings and am grateful to the faithful council members, the city workers and all those who share their ideas and skills to benefit our community.
For me, it’s an informative time well spent.
