Letter to the Editor: Regarding Concern Over ‘Hub City Loves’ Banner

Posted

We are writing in response to Pastor Andrew Fix’s letter to the editor regarding the Hub City Loves banner across Tower Avenue in Downtown Centralia.

We appreciate the opportunity to share information about the Centralia Downtown Association (CDA).

The CDA, which created and paid for the banner, is a member of the Washington State Main Street program, which in turn is part of a nationwide program focused on revitalizing hometown communities such as Centralia. We work toward preservation and revitalization of downtown Centralia through the four pillars of Main Street — promotion, design, outreach and

economic vitality.

Chief among our goals this year is to show the community what the CDA does and to build partnerships so we can together create a beautiful, safe and prosperous downtown, which will in turn benefit the entire city of Centralia. One way we envisioned to spread our message was to create a series of banners that showcase the programs and events of the CDA and our partner organizations throughout the city. Over the course of the year the story will unfold that the CDA truly loves our entire community.

We look forward to sharing our story of Hub City Loves with all who live, work, shop, dine and play in Downtown Centralia.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Staebler
