Letter to the editor: Sincere gratitude for The Chronicle

Posted

We have been subscribers for many years and have never liked the paper as well as we have since Chad and Coralee Taylor’s family took over. The care for each small city around with their happenings featured boldly in pictures and narrative delights us.

The same with sports. It is not centered on the Twin Cities, although they are covered well. The outlying cities are given nice coverage as well.

You have a place for people to express themselves freely and feature articles pertinent to the local problems. The whimsical side with your emphasis on birds and animals, the trip down the river, your journey through the local thrift stores, bringing back a glimpse of the past, and I could list many other really special ways this paper is the local news.

I was especially impressed with the way the best in each category was handled this year. The gathering, the pictures, the handout awards and finally the neat booklet with pictures we can keep and refer to for local information. It was a great new idea.

You give information on the churches each week, have special features by the staff and the news of the day to keep people informed.

Yes, our local paper is a success, and I just wanted you to know how much you are appreciated for all your efforts.
