Letter to the Editor: Thoughts on Neo-Nazis and Pride Event

Posted

The battle of Pine Street Plaza in Centralia was like a tree falling in the woods and no one was there to hear it.

On one side there were 15 “alleged” neo-Nazis wearing their “I’m a Fed Starter Kit” of khaki pants, black shirts and face masks. On the other side, there were 30 to 40 LGBTQ+ advocates. In a county of roughly 82,000 people, it is amazing how much publicity this little ole event of 50-plus people garnered.

Chronicle reporter Isabel Vander Stoep penned a 1,600-word soap opera article complete with Lewis County and Centralia officials falling all over each other to see who could “virtue signal” the most. We even had a Lewis County “Republican” throw fellow Lewis County Republicans under a bus and aligned them with Nazis, coupled with another Lewis County commissioner who penned a 330-word commentary admonishing the “white supremacist neo-Nazis.”

I’m surprised they didn’t blame this all on Joe Kent or President Trump?

I sure miss the old days (the 90s) when the “GayStapo LGBTQ+” and their allies just wanted us all to stay out of their bedrooms. Now we get their bedroom shoved down our throats 24/7 for the whole month of June.

We have some serious issues in this state, but this LGBTQ+ spectacle on Pearl Street and the drag queen show in Chehalis isn’t one of them. We now live in a state where the government can shelter a child, as young as 14, away from the parents so that they can receive gender affirming “care,” yet we live in a state where 18-,19- and 20-year-old adults — who can vote and serve in the military — have lost their Second Amendment rights.

By the way, Lewis County liberals, if you have to “virtue signal” and post a sign in your yard telling the world you’re against racism, you just might be a racist.
