Letter to the Editor: Tracy Murphy Is the Real Deal

Posted

Election year! It can be a daunting task to decide who best to vote for in the upcoming November election.

I recently met Tracy Murphy at the Southwest Washington Fair. Tracy is running for Lewis County sheriff. I was blown away by Tracy’s authenticity, Christian values, integrity and moral guidance. Tracy is the real deal.

We talked about the ugly and devastating impact of the pandemic of drugs, crime and the impact in our county jail. Most families in the United States have been directly or indirectly impacted by someone they know who is addicted or deceased as a result of a drug cocktail.

Tracy talked about his plan, vision, loyalty and conviction to work with other agencies to bring about the best results for Lewis County in order to reduce the impact of drugs and clean up the county.

In the last two weeks, I am aware that while teaming up with other agencies, Tracy Murphy and the Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team have confiscated 370-plus pounds of meth, 190,000 fentanyl pills and 1 kilogram of fentanyl powder while most of us were sleeping.

I have 35 years working in the law field, including an internship with the Thurston County Public Defender’s Office, so I have some insight as to the hard work and commitment it takes to put a plan of action in place and carry it out. For all of the foregoing factual reasons, I endorse Tracy Murphy for Lewis County sheriff. Like Tracy, your vote will make a difference.
