The Lewis County Auditor's Office has announced that 13,196 ballots will be mailed out Wednesday, April 2, to the Mossyrock, Onalaska and Winlock school districts as well as Lewis County Fire District No. 4 for the April 22 special election.
This comes after 130 ballots were mailed to military and overseas voters March 21.
The auditor's office expects ballots to be delivered to voters starting April 7. Anyone who has not received their ballot by April 11 can go to the Lewis County Auditor's Office, call 360-740-1278 or go to www.votewa.gov and select “your ballots and voting materials” to print a replacement.
Anyone who has changed addresses can contact the Lewis County Auditor’s Office or go online to www.votewa.gov to update voter registration. The auditor’s office is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on election day, April 22, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The three school districts each have proposed replacement levies for programs and operations funding. The new levies would take the place of previous levies and be used to fund programs and operations that are either only partially funded by the state or not funded at all.
The levy proposed by the Mossyrock School District No. 206 would equal $1.27 per $1,000 of assessed value through fiscal year 2028.
The levy proposed by the Onalaska School District No. 300 would equal $1.25 per $1,000 of assessed property value through fiscal year 2028.
The levy proposed by the Winlock School District No. 232 would equal $1.12 per $1,000 of assessed property value through fiscal year 2027.
Finally, Lewis County Fire District 4 in Morton has proposed a bond to construct a new fire station that would replace the current station building. If the proposal passes, the district will issue $3 million in bonds to be paid out using excess property tax levies.
