Lewis County Auditor’s Office reminds voters to return ballot by election day

The Lewis County Auditor’s Office has advised the county’s registered voters that ballots for next week’s general election must be postmarked by election day in order to be counted.

In an announcement Monday, the auditor’s office said, while stamps are not needed, voters should check the U.S. Postal Service’s final pickup time to ensure that ballots will be picked up in time to be counted.

Both the postal service and the Washington Secretary of State recommend that ballots should be mailed at least seven days before the election. Voters can also take their ballot to a postal clerk’s office to be stamped for delivery.
