The public is invited to attend a ceremony to inter unclaimed remains held by the Lewis County Coroner’s Office.

The ceremony will begin at noon Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Pioneer Cemetery in Chehalis.

The cemetery is located at 2000 S. Market Blvd. Parking is available across the street at the Eagles parking lot.

“The public is invited to attend as we pay respect to people who either have no family or who have been abandoned by their family,” Lewis County Coroner Warren McLeod stated in a news release. “We have several unclaimed veterans cremated remains in our care and arrangements are being made for their transport and internment, with full military honors, to Tahoma National Cemetery. This is expected to take place around Veterans Day.”
